Also known as: Restricted funds, Designated funds

Funds that receive revenue restricted to a specific purpose by law, donor, or grantor.

Examples: Measure A and Measure W transportation funds, Heritage Tree Fund, BMR Housing Fund, BayREN. Cannot be spent on anything other than the specified purpose.
